Do you feel as though we’ve lost touch with each other? Is there significance being united under one God? “Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future.” Ephesians 4:3-4.
As life has progressed into the era of social media, our lives can get caught up in technology and often lose sight of what’s right in front of us. People. People right next to you that need Him. Do you find yourself distracted with your phone? Have you ever missed the opportunity to spread His light? In order to do so, we must be aware. God has placed you right where you are for a reason, to live in the present. Making memories, not living vicariously through other memories. I think we often forget that we were put here to lift each other up and to encourage one another.
Human connection is vital, how we prosper and are filled with light is through others spreading His light. Touch, body language and tone, all have important factors in how we receive Gods love. So, instead of seeking and living through a virtual world, why not interact in the world where light can shine, and darkness can flee with the person right in front of you. We can’t always be the light for ourselves, we need others to lift us up when life gets us down. “With this news, strengthen those who have tired hands, and encourage those who have weak knees.” Isaiah 35:3.
“So, encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.”
1 Thessalonians 5:11. People are constantly going through trials and tribulations, you may be the answer to lifting them up. Your goodness will pierce the dark that has overwhelmed someone and be the change we all wish to see. It starts with you. The next time you hop on your phone, take a minute to look around you and see what you could do to spread Gods love. It may be to help someone with their groceries, smile at someone, or giving someone a hug who you can see needs it. Whatever it may be, do it with love and the kindness God gives to each and every one of us. Just like His presence is crucial for living, so can our presence be to others finding Him.
