When Jan Crouch crossed paths with Anthony at a restaurant they were both dining at, her words were, “Oh, honey, you should come work for me.” At the time Anthony was the owner of a mostly residential landscaping company with about 180 customers in the central Florida area. But, looking for a change, he followed her advice and became an actor at The Holy Land Experience (HLE) on June 1, 2012. Anthony has performed many roles in the park, including King David and Jesus, and recently stepped into a new role — though not on stage. He is now the assistant manager for the guest services team, and his previous business experience is certain to guide him in his new endeavor.
One of Anthony’s first projects as the guest services assistant manager is to create a VIP tour for HLE guests. The tour will include a guide for the entire day, a customized schedule based on the group’s needs, preferred seating in the Church of All Nations, lunch, backstage tours, and a gift bag. Though the VIP tour cost is in addition to the regular park ticket price, this exclusive experience will help ensure that our groups get the most out of their Holy Land Experience visit.
Outside of his role at HLE, Anthony stays busy with his wife and seven dogs, two of which are being fostered while the couple tries to find good homes for them. He and his wife feel a special bond to the K-9 species, which has led them to start a rescue for pit bulls, named Saving Cyrus Inc. When asked what inspired them to start their organization, Anthony replied, We feel that God gave us a passion for pit bulls to help save one of his most misunderstood groups of animals.” For more information on this project, visit savingcyrus.org.
Anthony also loves to travel and play paintball, and he recently started running in marathons.

Q: What was one of your favorite roles as an actor?
A: As an actor I was honestly happy to do anything in our Christmas musical show Come to the Manger. No matter what I did on stage in that show, I was having fun.
Q: What are some things you love about HLE?
A: I love my HLE family. There is a deep bond we all share from working here, and it stays even after some of us move on to other places.
Q: Do you feel like HLE has helped mold you into the man you are today? If so, how?
A: I can easily say I am the man I am today because of HLE. I am a recovering addict with over seven years of sobriety. I would have never truly accepted a higher power like I needed to do without working here. Being on stage has also helped me become more confident, a trait I didn’t really have before I worked here.
Q: Do you have an HLE experience that you would like to share?
A: My favorite experience was any time I got to spend with Ms. Jan. She was the most generous person I have ever known. We all miss her presence here but take peace in knowing where she is now.
Q: If you could sum up in one sentence what park guests at HLE can experience, what would that be?
A: Guests will experience a peace as well as an overwhelming sense of joy through many of our live productions.
