Holy Land Experience Rolls Out Two New Theatrical Productions For Summer Season!

Orlando, Florida, May 10, 2017 — Orlando, Florida’s Holy Land Experience, the unique faith-and-family vacation destination where the land of the Bible comes alive, announced the addition of two exciting new original theatrical productions to its 2017 summer lineup.

Manager Mike Everett noted that every summer tens of thousands of individuals and families make their way each week to the entertaining and inspirational theme park to enjoy the award-winning dramas and musicals, along with the park’s many unique interactive displays. “Many of our Holy Land Experience guests come from across America and around the world specifically to enjoy the powerfully moving theatrical events produced by our in-house creative team,” said Mr. Everett. “And we’ve added two all-new powerful productions to our other award-winning shows playing daily in our 1,800-seat, state-of-the-art Church of All Nations auditorium.”

As with all of the Holy Land Experience productions, the two new shows debuting this summer season feature inspirational and life-changing stories brought to life through original music, vibrant sets and costumes, and talented, award-winning actors.

Out of Darkness brings an unforgettable and moving account of the New Testament pharisee Nicodemus, who finds himself at a crossroads in life, torn between religion and the life-giving words and actions of the man Jesus. As Jesus heals a blind man at the Feast of Tabernacles, Nicodemus is faced with the reality that this Jesus is, in truth, the Messiah, the Light of the world.

Jesus: The Sacrifice brings to life through drama, action, and original music the trial, suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus as seen through the eye-witness accounts of Jesus’ mother Mary, Mary Magdalene, and the Roman Centurion. Through this unique and life-transforming musical drama, guests will share in the grief and despair felt by Jesus’ family and friends as He suffered and died like a common criminal, followed by unspeakable joy as they are brought face-to-face with their risen Lord and Savior. This is certain to become a Holy Land Experience classic and guest favorite.

In addition to these two all-new productions, guests will enjoy a lineup of other popular Holy Land Experience theatrical shows, including:

– Love Never Fails, the moving Old Testament love story of Ruth and Boaz, whose great grandson would become Israel’s greatest earthly king.

– The Prodigal, which recounts with creative passion the story of a lost and broken son whose devoted father welcomes home with loving arms of forgiveness.

– The Lost & Found Agency, a fascinating, interactive show for kids of all ages that follows a colorful team of specialists called upon to help a shepherd find his lost sheep, a young lady locate a valuable missing coin — and a lost young man find his way back home.

Along with the popular theatrical productions, Holy Land Experience features many interactive exhibits, including the Wilderness Tabernacle, the Great Temple, Golgotha and the Garden Tomb, and the world-renowned Scriptorium, a collection of priceless Bible manuscripts, scrolls, biblical antiquities, and artifacts.

And don’t forget the Smile of a Child Adventure Land, where the park’s younger guests can burn up plenty of energy on the totally safe rock-climbing wall, play an exciting round of mini-golf featuring Bible story characters, have their faces painted, and enjoy an inspirational Bible story.

Each year Florida’s beaches, theme parks, and other vacation destinations draw an estimated 75 million people, but no where throughout Florida — or across America — is there anything like the one-of-a-kind wonder that visitors will enjoy at Holy Land Experience. Mike Everett said that he and the rest of the park’s team are anticipating a life-changing time for the many thousands of guests who will visit Holy Land Experience over the summer months. “Seeing lives changed and people inspired and blessed is why we exist,” he said, “and we’re excited to see how God moves.”

Holy Land Experience Retools “Passion” Drama Ahead of Easter Season

ORLANDO, FLA. (March 14, 2017) — As vacationers travel to Central Florida over Easter and spring break to enjoy the area’s world-class attractions, thousands are spending a day or more at Orlando’s Holy Land Experience, the inspirational family-friendly vacation destination where the land of the Bible comes alive through award-winning theatrical productions and colorful interactive exhibits designed for every member of the family.

This Easter season guests to Holy Land Experience will enjoy some truly life-changing theatrical productions, including an updated version of the park’s popular outdoor Passion drama. Entitled His Story, the award-winning production returns to the streets of Holy Land Experience to offer guests an up-close and unforgettable reenactment of the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Holy Land Experience manager Mike Everett noted that thousands of individuals from around the world have already pre-booked for the park’s highly anticipated Easter season, which runs from mid-March through April 29th. “We are excited to welcome our many friends and guests to an unforgettable Easter season at Holy Land Experience,” he said. “In response to countless requests, we are bringing back the life-changing Passion drama to our authentic outdoor Calvary location. This venue puts our guests right in the center of the action, where they will experience Christ’s passion in an extraordinary and personal way.”

Additionally, the park is introducing some great new productions that will play both outdoors in an interactive setting, as well as in the park’s 1,800-seat state-of-the-art auditorium. Among the exclusive and original productions:

– Love Never Fails, the moving Old Testament love story of Ruth and Boaz, whose great grandson would become Israel’s greatest earthly king.

– The Prodigal Son, an all-new Holy Land Experience musical that recounts with creative passion the story of a lost and broken son whose devoted father welcomes home with loving arms of forgiveness.

– The Lost & Found Agency, a fascinating, interactive show for kids of all ages that follows a colorful team of specialists called upon to help a shepherd find his lost sheep, a young lady locate a valuable missing coin — and a lost young man find his way back home.

Guests will also enjoy the park’s many entertaining and inspirational interactive exhibits including:

– The world-renowned Scriptorium that features a collection of priceless manuscripts, scrolls, biblical antiquities, and artifacts. The enlightening presentations that accompany the exhibits offer visitors a close-up view of Bible and church history.

– The Wilderness Tabernacle, the heart of worship for the children of Israel after their exodus from Egypt. This awe-inspiring exhibit takes guests on an unforgettable journey through Israel’s ancient priesthood, culminating with a breathtaking depiction of God’s glory revealed above the Ark of the Covenant.

– The Great Temple, a magnificent representation of the Jewish holy place that once stood on hallowed Mount Moriah in First Century Jerusalem.

Golgotha, a dramatic recreation of the place in biblical Israel where Jesus Christ was crucified and died. Built in part with stones collected from the countryside surrounding Jerusalem, this impacting exhibit is built atop another popular Holy Land Experience site, the profoundly moving recreation of the biblical Garden Tomb, where the body of Jesus was laid after His crucifixion — and from where He was miraculously resurrected three days later. A guided interactive tour makes this a must-see experience.

There’s also an all-new version of the park’s Smile of a Child Adventure Land, where younger guests can burn up plenty of energy on the totally safe rock-climbing walls, play an exciting round of mini-golf featuring Bible story characters, have their faces painted, and enjoy an inspirational Bible story.

Mr. Everett said that changed lives and renewed hearts are the foundation of everything that goes on at Holy Land Experience. “We are privileged every day to see our friends and guests deeply blessed through their time spent with us,” he said, adding that the traditional spring break and Easter season is a particularly popular time for individuals and families to visit the park. “We look forward to this time every year as so many people come to Central Florida for vacation, and thousands find rest, relaxation, and inspiration at Holy Land Experience.”

Free Day Recap

Holy Land Experience, the award-winning Orlando, Florida faith-and-family vacation destination, had another banner “Free Day” January 25th, as a total of 3,741 recorded guests enjoyed the 16-acre park’s many unique and engaging interactive exhibits and theatrical productions designed to bring the land of the Bible to life.

“Every year we set aside a special day to give our guests complimentary access to all the wonder and excitement of Holy Land Experience,” saidscreen-shot-2017-02-03-at-4-47-40-pm park manager Mike Everett. “This year’s attendance of over 3,700 guests was a huge blessing for our entire staff as we witnessed thousands of individuals and families having a great time and being impacted by the sights and sounds of this unique theme park experience.”

Mr. Everett noted that throughout the entire day large crowds of appreciative guests waited patiently to experience the park’s realistic re-creations of biblical sites like the Wilderness Tabernacle, the Great Temple, the Upper Room, Golgotha, and Jesus’ Garden Tomb, and to view the priceless manuscripts, biblical antiquities, and artifacts on display at the park’s world-renowned Scriptorium.

Additionally, the 2,000-seat Church of All Nations auditorium was packed for every performance of the park’s updated theatrical productions, including:

The Prodigal Son, an all-new Holy Land Experience drama that recounts with creative passion the story of a lost and broken son whose devoted father welcomes home with loving arms of forgiveness.

Forgiven, which tells the riveting accounts of God’s redemption in the lives of three unforgettable Bible characters.

The Promise, an all-new version of the award winning drama The Passion, which recounts with intense action the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The Lost & Found Agency, a fascinating, interactive show for kids of all ages that follows a colorful team of specialists called upon to help a shepherd find his lost sheep, a young lady locate a valuable missing coin — and a lost young man find his way back home.

During nearly every program, guests were invited to receive Christ as Savior or to reach out in prayer for special needs, “and we can say with confidence that hundreds of our guests responded and were impacted during those special times,” said Mr. Everett. He added that several hundred more guests left written prayer requests tucked in the cracks at the park’s recreation of the Jerusalem Wailing Wall, and others pinned request on the park’s prayer cross. “It is the joy of our staff to gather each of these requests and pray over them,” said Mr. Everett, “and to send the Wailing Wall requests to our prayer partners in Jerusalem.”

At the end of their day Holy Land Experience guests took time to leave notes of thanks and testimonies of how they were impacted:

– “Thank you so much for having a Free Day! This is a wonderful place.”

– “I was deeply touched by the invitations for salvation and healing — and especially that people came to Christ and were healed! I was one of them…. Keep up the good deeds!”

– “Thanks for this great worship experience…. Thank you for showing us that ‘God’s not dead, He’s still alive!'”

Mr. Everett noted that the park’s staff is already gearing up for the beginning of Florida’s spring break vacation season in the next several weeks, as individuals and families will travel to the Orlando area from around the nation and world. “Thousands of people look forward to visiting the Holy Land Experience every year,” he said. “And we always look forward to welcoming them to this oasis of God’s presence right in the middle of America’s favorite vacation spot.”

Meet Anthony

When Jan Crouch crossed paths with Anthony at a restaurant they were both dining at, her words were, “Oh, honey, you should come work for me.” At the time Anthony was the owner of a mostly residential landscaping company with about 180 customers in the central Florida area. But, looking for a change, he followed her advice and became an actor at The Holy Land Experience (HLE) on June 1, 2012. Anthony has performed many roles in the park, including King David and Jesus, and recently stepped into a new role — though not on stage. He is now the assistant manager for the guest services team, and his previous business experience is certain to guide him in his new endeavor.

One of Anthony’s first projects as the guest services assistant manager is to create a VIP tour for HLE guests. The tour will include a guide for the entire day, a customized schedule based on the group’s needs, preferred seating in the Church of All Nations, lunch, backstage tours, and a gift bag. Though the VIP tour cost is in addition to the regular park ticket price, this exclusive experience will help ensure that our groups get the most out of their Holy Land Experience visit.

Outside of his role at HLE, Anthony stays busy with his wife and seven dogs, two of which are being fostered while the couple tries to find good homes for them. He and his wife feel a special bond to the K-9 species, which has led them to start a rescue for pit bulls, named Saving Cyrus Inc. When asked what inspired them to start their organization, Anthony replied, We feel that God gave us a passion for pit bulls to help save one of his most misunderstood groups of animals.” For more information on this project, visit savingcyrus.org.

Anthony also loves to travel and play paintball, and he recently started running in marathons.

To learn more about Anthony and his HLE experience, check out our exclusive interview below.

Q: What was one of your favorite roles as an actor?

A: As an actor I was honestly happy to do anything in our Christmas musical show Come to the Manger. No matter what I did on stage in that show, I was having fun.

Q: What are some things you love about HLE?

A: I love my HLE family. There is a deep bond we all share from working here, and it stays even after some of us move on to other places.

Q: Do you feel like HLE has helped mold you into the man you are today? If so, how?

A: I can easily say I am the man I am today because of HLE. I am a recovering addict with over seven years of sobriety. I would have never truly accepted a higher power like I needed to do without working here. Being on stage has also helped me become more confident, a trait I didn’t really have before I worked here.

Q: Do you have an HLE experience that you would like to share?

A: My favorite experience was any time I got to spend with Ms. Jan. She was the most generous person I have ever known. We all miss her presence here but take peace in knowing where she is now.

Q: If you could sum up in one sentence what park guests at HLE can experience, what would that be?

A: Guests will experience a peace as well as an overwhelming sense of joy through many of our live productions.

New Year’s Reflection

A lot of changes happened for the park in 2016. We lost our owner/president, Jan Crouch, at the end of May, which was without a doubt the toughest company event the park and its employees have experienced. She was not only our boss but also our friend. The biggest question that needed to be answered was “What’s next?” For the remainder of the year, we have been working hard on just that. HLE is now ready for the new year and all that’s in store for 2017.

What’s Next

2o9a8789Most people are looking to the future this time of year. At HLE, our goal is to continue advancing forward while also bringing the ancient past with us. We are committed to creating an authentic experience for guests in which they’ll encounter life as it was when Jesus walked among us. In some ways the park is returning to its roots before the time of Trinity Broadcasting Network, offering a lively marketplace, outside atmospheric elements, and more educational opportunities. Each individual coming through the gates will be God-inspired by what he or she sees and hears. The park has also begun to host periodic nights of worship that are free to the community.

In addition to our new park sign and indoor and outdoor musicals and dramas for kids and adults, new educational tours have been added, and renovations have transformed the park into an overall more interactive experience. Several more updates and additions are in store for 2017, including shows and special events.

Come see The Holy Land Experience like never before.

Christmas at HLE

Remembering the true reason for the season

“And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.” Luke 2:8–14

Journey to Bethlehem is an all-new2o9a7306 adventure at The Holy Land Experience, giving park guests the opportunity to learn about the birth of Jesus. At each stop throughout the attraction, guests are greeted by mysterious “messengers” who explain the events that led up to Jesus’ birth. They end their journey in the market of Bethlehem, busy with local villagers, when two shepherds arrive to tell of what they witnessed while “abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.” Journey to Bethlehem comes to a close with the messengers’ true identities being revealed.

While HLE is excited to offer new seasonal experiences this year, we’re also pleased to bring back a holiday favorite: Come to the Manger, a musical about Joseph and Mary’s desperate search for a room as the the arrival of their new son, Jesus, draws near.

Even our Lost and Found Agency kids show has been revamped for the Christmas season. As one of the performers has lost his or her holiday spirit, a mysterious stranger visits to share about the true meaning of Christmas and help restore what was lost.

The Good Shepherd

The Good Shepherd, one of The Holy Land Experience’s newest biblically inspired theatrical productions, has already received enthusiast praise from park guests. This production aims to explain why Jesus’ teachings were regarded as dangerous by many of the religious leaders of the day. Having gained a more in-depth picture of why Jesus was loved and hated by so many different people, park guests can then better understand the other events and shows they’ll experience at the park.

As the first show of the day at The Holy Land Experience, The Good Shepherd brings an energy to the morning that helps set the stage for the rest of the day. screen-shot-2016-11-02-at-2-21-05-pmGuests entering the park are immediately drawn to the Marketplace by the sound of drums, and several “villagers” who witnessed the miracles of Jesus join them before long. The Rabbi soon enters the scene as well and begins to teach the people how to live their lives — that is, before He is suddenly interrupted and condemned by Caiaphas the High Priest. A confrontation ensues, but Jesus, using parables and His teachings, avoids the entrapments set by the High Priest. Not having accomplished his goal, Caiaphas retreats. Jesus then turns His attention back to the gathered crowd and explains that He is there to do His Father’s work — a message of love.

Have you had a chance to see The Good Shepherd yet? Don’t miss out on this inspiring, new show at The Holy Land Experience!

Meet Lidia

Lidia works in our ever-diligent shipping and retail department. She has been working at The Holy Land Experience since March 2005 and has been a vital part of several departments throughout her time here. Today, you might find her processing packages that arrived to the shipping department via FedEx, screen-shot-2016-10-15-at-3-16-17-pmUSPS, or UPS as well as counting, verifying paper work for, barcoding, and dividing merchandise for the stores or to keep at shipping. She pulls lists for the stores of all the merchandise they need and keeps the shipping warehouse nice and clean. When in retail, she assists guests with purchases and also ensures that the store is presentable. In her spare time, she loves to be with her husband, going for a swim at the beach or at a pool and playing with her “sweet little dog.”

To learn more about Lidia and her HLE experience, check out our exclusive interview below.

Q: What is your favorite thing you do in the park and why?

A: My favorite thing to do at HLE is inventory! It’s not easy, but in the end, I do feel accomplished and everything is organized.

Q: What do you love most about HLE?

A: I enjoy when the guests share with me how blessed they are to be at the park and how much they enjoyed the entire experience.

Q: Do you feel like HLE has helped mold you in anyway? If so, how?

A: My Christianity has grown so much. My experiences have made me stronger and wiser. I can write a bestseller of all I have witnessed working here. Most of my chapters would be positive ones and full of blessings, grace, and mercy, but some chapters would be full of funny moments too.

Q: Do you have an HLE experience you would like to share?

A: My favorite moment was when I was working in guest services, and one beautiful morning, a large group from Korea decided to sing a cappella “How Great Thou Art” before they entered the park. It was so powerful. I was crying tears of joy big time. It is wonderful to witness such moments. I cry and get goosebumps every time I think about this.

Q: What is your favorite exhibit in the park?

A: The Scriptorium because it is one of the most powerful presentations we have.

Q: If you could sum up in one sentence what park guests at HLE can expect to experience, what would that be?

A: They will experience the Bible in ways they never have before; it is an interactive and immersive experience that will leave you in tears of joy.

JerusalemMarket.jpg

The Jerusalem Market

The Jerusalem Market is the first major renovation to have taken place at The Holy Land Experience since the beginning of the summer. Intended to immerse guests even more deeply in an authentic Hebraic experience, this outdoor marketplace is the perfect place for guests to take pictures and create memories. The Market consists of “shops” dealing in pottery, rugs, and gourds; other trades represented are carpentry and blacksmithery. Throughout the day, multiple shows can also be seen in this open space.

Welcome to Market is one such show held in the outdoorscreen-shot-2016-09-30-at-4-46-48-pm Jerusalem Market area. After the shop owners greet the guests, talk of a new rabbi, who is thought to be the Messiah, commences. To their surprise, the shop owners and guests suddenly come face to face with this rabbi, who is named Jesus. Jesus begins to teach not only the shop owners but also the audience, which has been brought into the story. Park guests have the opportunity to watch the story unfold as well as be part of the action.

The first show that opened in the Market was Road to Emmaus. This show features two weary travelers who are looking for answers about Jesus’ death and the mysteries that surround the whereabouts of His body, which has gone missing from the tomb. As they discuss the strange events that took place, they meet a stranger who is curious about their conversation. The stranger reminds the travelers of the prophesies that had been foretold of the Messiah’s purpose and that the missing body could only mean one thing: Jesus’ body could not be found because He is not dead — He has risen.

Additional plans are in progress for the Jerusalem Market area, including new original shows. Be sure to follow us on social media and check back here for future updates about the Market and other park attractions.
